Suno API production checklist
Most launch failures are not model quality; they are timeouts, duplicate writes and missing storage.
The ten checks
| # | Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Key only on the server | Front-end bundles leak |
| 2 | Client timeout in minutes | Renders are not request-response calls |
| 3 | Task id persisted | Restarts lose results otherwise |
| 4 | Unique request id | Prevents duplicate charges |
| 5 | Queue with in-flight cap | Avoids 429 storms |
| 6 | Download and store | Provider URLs expire |
| 7 | Terminal vs retryable errors | Stops blind retries |
| 8 | 429 rate and p95 latency | Shows when to scale |
| 9 | Cost per successful song | Catches duplicate spends |
| 10 | Rollback and key rotation | Incident readiness |
The three that matter most
Idempotency, minutes-long timeouts and storage. If you get only three right, get these: a timeout must not create a second order, a task must survive a restart, and a finished file must not depend on a URL that expires.
A realistic launch test
Run a representative batch at the concurrency you expect, including one forced failure and one client timeout. Verify the refund, the task recovery, the stored file and the cost report before calling it done.
常见问题 / FAQ
How long should the test run?
At least one representative batch and one failure path; a single happy-path request proves very little.
What should I monitor?
429 rate, p95 submit-to-complete time, terminal failure rate, and cost per successful song.
Can I launch without a queue?
Only at low volume. A queue is what keeps a burst from becoming a wall of 429s and duplicate retries.
