Suno API guide: models, pricing and integration
A good Suno API integration starts with the model, billing unit and delivery path. This guide covers the choices that affect quality, speed and cost.
Use Suno's official V6 model through an API
Suno-API uses Suno's official V6 model and provides an API Key for song generation, editing, task queries and downloads. A documented HTTP interface removes the need to maintain browser sessions or automation around the web studio.
API integration routes
| Route | What it provides | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Suno-API | Uses Suno's official V6 model with documented HTTP endpoints, per-call billing, task queries and support | Products and teams that need a reliable integration |
| Self-hosted integration | Your own browser automation, session management and maintenance | Research and controlled internal experiments |
| Different engines | Separate music-generation products with their own models and output | Teams evaluating other music engines |
What per-call pricing looks like
The model that works for API users is per generation, not per month: one call returns two finished tracks, downloads are separate and usually free, and failed tasks are refunded. On Suno-API a generation is 0.6 CNY, and read-only endpoints such as song lookup, lyrics timelines and media downloads cost nothing.
Six checks before you pay a provider
- Where the accounts come from - own paid accounts, or shared and farmed ones that fail in waves.
- Billing unit - per request or per success; two tracks per call changes the maths.
- Refunds on failure - automatic, or something you have to argue for.
- Endpoint coverage - generation only, or also cover, extend, stems, lyrics, WAV.
- Link lifetime - do downloads point at temporary upstream URLs or at the provider's own storage.
- Documented limits - concurrency, timeouts and quotas written down rather than discovered.
Developer guides by language
Start with the guide that matches your stack: Python, Node.js, polling vs webhooks, or the migration checklist. The task lifecycle and limits pages explain the failure modes they share.
For production, continue with batch generation, audio storage, the launch checklist and key security. For teams, use the SDK overview, observability guide, compliance checklist and FAQ.
